Hubbie is on his way to the Pyrénées Orientales right now with a van-load of our furniture, another step towards our big move in just 23 weeks time! Renting a van from a local supermarket in France is fairly easy. Just go online with one of the major chains and fill in the form. We usually use SuperU, only because it is several kilometres from our present house. Remember on the day to take identity papers, driver’s licence and a recent bill showing your present address. You’ll need a credit card as well. Once the van has been checked over by you and the agent and the administration completed, the van is yours.
We had a bit of a wobble here due to the snowfall and whether the move would even be possible, let alone safe. However, all went exceptionally well and the routes into the mountains were still passable to our village, unlike other villages tucked away in valleys, only kilometres away. Phew!
